Exactech
Exactech is global orthopedic implant manufacturer based in Gainesville, Florida. With this project we were moving from an outdated and under supported python based CMS called Plone to a modern CMS. One that could be expanded, developed and managed by a small team. They wanted a website that would allow them to share their brand story and market their products in a modern, effective way.
Objectives
Exactech does business directly with surgeons and hospitals and they wanted a modern website that could communicate to surgeons, hospital administrators and sales representatives in an efficient way. The primary objective was to meet the marketing and communication needs of the individual departmental stakeholders as well as the business needs of the company.

Development
- We used low fidelity wireframes to quickly prototype and then used sketch and Adobe XD to develop high-fidelity mockups used in the final design.
- We developed multiple custom wordpress plugins.
- These plugins range from a plugin to allow our content to be managed from a single site and shared to multiple sites in order to keep content up-to-date easily.
- Custom interactions between To a plugin that gave page designers the ability to place and configure complex custom widgets on various pages along with the other elements.
- Developed RESTful API and mobile app friendly authentication method for use with vendor-developed mobile applications.
- Created custom content types to allow for unique data entry and management.
- We employed agile methodology, GIT version control and weekly sprint meetings to keep the team efforts coordinated.
Results
We delivered a responsive WordPress multisite that supported multiple countries, stakeholders and company interests. We created a surgeon locator feature for patients to find nearby surgeons. Built a large filterable library of resources that is easily managed by a small team of content managers. Implemented a group permission based portal for both employees and sales representatives to find digital resources and buy physical marketing collateral and apparel.
